Switch to Chord mode and it names what you strum, from plain major and minor up through 7ths, 9ths, sus shapes and m7b5. It listens to the real harmonics of each string, so it reports the notes you actually played. When a shape is genuinely ambiguous it shows you the notes instead of guessing at a name.
