Erosion

Rain carves the land while your structures resist erosion
by jake

A hydraulic erosion sandbox: thousands of individually-simulated water droplets flow downhill across a generated landscape, each one picking up and depositing real sediment as it goes. Drop a boulder, wall, dome, or caprock onto the terrain before the rain starts — hard rock resists erosion, so the softer land around it wears away first, leaving your structure standing on a pedestal exactly like a real hoodoo or mesa.
